As a dog owner in Loyalist Township, you must get a dog licence each year as per our Dog Control By-law. This helps us find your dog if they go missing and keeps our family pets out of animal shelters.

Please include payment by cheque and a self-addressed, stamped envelope so that we can mail your new dog tag back to you. We must receive your form at the Township Office before March 31 for you to get the discounted rate.
How many dogs can I have?
You can purchase tags for up to three dogs per household. If you have more than three dogs, you must apply for a Kennel licence.
Lost tags
There is a $4.00 fee to replace a lost dog tag. You can buy replacement tags at the Municipal Office.

Impounded dogs
Under the By-law 2011-069 – Section 7.2, the owner of an impounded dog has five business days to recover the dog from the shelter. You must pay fees for the time the dog has been in the shelter along with the fees for any emergency veterinary medical care that was required.
