Loyalist Township is pleased to invite participants to enjoy the Loyalist Township Doors Open heritage event on June 18th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. as part of Loyalist Days and the 21st anniversary celebrations of Doors Open Ontario.

The Ontario Heritage Trust works with communities across the province, including Loyalist Township, to open the doors, gates, and courtyards of their unique and most fascinating cultural sites so that the public can explore the stories inside.

Amherstview Sewage Plant Maintenance Activities & Odour

Please be advised that, due to the normal wastewater maintenance schedule that is done annually, the south aeration cell at the Amherstview Water Pollution Control Plant (sewage plant) is being emptied of sanitary sludge, cleaned, and inspected. The work is necessary to ensure that the sewage effluent (the treated liquid that flows out of the plant) continues to meet Ontario standards.

Due to this work, residents may notice a sewer odour for short periods of time throughout the day. We apologize...

Loyalist Township Partners with Cataraqui Conservation on Tree Planting Initiative

Loyalist Township, in partnership with Cataraqui Conservation, will be planting approximately 7,700 seedlings as part of Forest Ontario’s 50 Million Tree Program with additional support from the Highway of Heroes (HOH) planting initiative. This initiative will add a total of 7,700 seedlings across 9.6 acres of land across Loyalist Township in the upcoming weeks.
