Back Beach

Please note that Back Beach is primarily owned by Nut Island Farms Limited with one portion of the property jointly owned by Loyalist Township and Nut Island Farms Limited. The use of Back Beach is restricted in the terms of a joint legal agreement under By-law 99-15.

The Beach may be used by the public for family recreational purposes between January 1 and midnight on Labour Day.

January 1 to Labour Day - Conditions of use

All terrain vehicles, dirt bikes, dune buggies and other motorized vehicles and bicycles are prohibited.
All vehicles must be parked in the designated parking area.
No camping, lighting fires, hunting or any discharge of firearms is permitted on the Beach.
Use of the Beach is permitted only during the period from January 1 to Labour Day and at no other time.
Persons using the Beach do so at their own risk as the Beach is unsupervised.
Keep the area clean by placing all garbage in the garbage receptacles provided. Users are encouraged to take their garbage with them when they leave the Beach.
No one shall use the Beach for sleeping or residential purposes or for the storage of personal effects or articles.
No trees of any nature may be cut or destroyed in the Beach or adjacent areas.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
Management reserves the right to make such other and further reasonable rules and regulations as in its judgment may from time to time be needed for the safety, care, cleanliness and appearance of the Beach.

Labour Day to December 31 - Public use is strictly prohibited

Nut Island Farms Limited has exclusive use of the Beach during this time. Violators may be prosecuted by Nut Island Farms Limited and/or Loyalist Township.

Between Labour Day and December 31, Nut Island Farms has exclusive use of the Beach.

Loyalist Township advises that public use of Back Beach is prohibited effective Labour Day (September 2, 2024) to December 31, 2024. Nut Island Farms Limited has exclusive use of the Beach during this time. Violators may be prosecuted by Nut Island Farms Limited and/or Loyalist Township.
