Miller Paving Limited was contracted by Loyalist Township in 2023 to complete Crack Sealing and apply Micro-Surfacing on various streets within Amherstview and Bath. Unfortunately due to weather Miller Paving was not able to complete some the work and will be returning the week of May 27th with a completion date of July 2024. The streets impacted by this work are listed below. However, weather and other unexpected delays may extend this timeline.

What Residents can expect: 

The scope of work will comprise of adding a second layer or surface course of Microsurfacing. Most roads only received the base course in 2023 which contained a larger stone that was scraped off by the plows. The surface course utilizes a much smaller stone and provides a better wear surface.

This preventative maintenance technique will help protect the road from further deterioration, thus extending the overall lifespan of the road surface.  

To efficiently complete this work and minimize disruption, street parking will not be permitted.  Temporary ‘No Parking’ signage will be placed the day prior to the work. We also request that residents remove any obstructions (i.e. basketball nets). Any vehicles parked along the streets during the application process risk being towed.  Stay tuned to the Township’s website and social media pages for updates on specific impact dates for your street.  

Temporary lane closures may be required to facilitate the work. Some traffic delays can be expected. Please note, you may experience a short interruption of access to your driveway (crew members on site can assist).  

  • Please observe all signs and traffic control personnel directions 
  • Use CAUTION when driving  
  • Drive SLOWLY (5km/hr) 
  • Keep children and pets out of treated areas to avoid tracking into homes. It typically takes a few hours for both applications to set-up. Regular everyday use may resume after this time frame.
