Woodstoves
The installation of a woodstove, fireplace, chimney or outdoor solid fuel combustion appliance requires a building permit. Submitting a complete application will ensure the timely approval of your permit. Please note that most insurance companies will require a WETT certificate. Before starting the installation, you should notify your insurance company of your intentions.
A building permit is required for the installation/replacement of a:
- Fireplace (masonry, insert, pre-manufactured)
- Woodstove
- Pellet stove
- Chimney of any type
- Outdoor wood furnace. Please note we have a by-law that regulates the use of outdoor wood furnace 2012-101)
