Loyalist Township offers commissioning and notary services.
A Commissioner of Oaths is a person who is authorized by the Province of Ontario to administer oaths, affidavits or statutory declarations.
A Notary Public is a person who is authorized under the Notaries Act to commission documents, certify or notarize documents as true copies and to verify signatures.

We strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment with us. Walk-ins will be accepted Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and depending on staff availability.

What you need
Proof of identification
You must present one (1) original piece of photo identification in the form of government-issued photo identification with 3 data elements - date of birth, signature and photo.
Passport - Canadian / Foreign, Canadian Citizenship card with photo, Canadian permanent resident card with signature, record of landing (IMM 1000), confirmation of permanent resident accompanied by a valid passport from country of origin, report pursuant to the immigration and Refugee Protection Act with photo, student authorization / study permit, employment authorization/ work permit, visitor record, temporary resident's permit, secure certificate of Indian Status Card, Driver's License or enhanced driver's license.
Paperwork
Bring your document (do not sign the jurat section of the document).

Commission/ witness/ certify documents $20.00 per document or $40.00 for multiple documents
Notarization $50.00 per document

Cash, debit and cheque. We do not accept credit cards.
