June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) which is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. Loyalist Township embraces June is Recreation and Parks Month as a way to promote our programs and events, parks and facilities that are available for all of us to enjoy.

The theme of 2024
Parks and Recreation Ontario have set the theme for JRPM 2024 as Community Thrives Here. This is meant to remind us that recreation and parks bring communities together. Exploring parks and participating in any and all recreational pursuits help us enhance our lives by connecting us with the people around us and encouraging us to be more active.
Did you know...that's recreation too!
- Chasing your dog down the street in your pajamas after she ripped the leash from your hand!
- Watching birds argue in trees over ninja squirrels moving into their park.
- Hiding in your backyard under a tree to read a book.
- Taking a cold plunge while whale watching at Finkle Shores park... PS Let us know if you see any - they are shy!
- Getting caught in the rain and slipping in mud while looking for Parrots in the Bay… PS They will come to you if you squawk loud enough - guard your crackers!
SEOPRA - Mayoral Disc Golf Challenge
Members of Council, the Mayor and Mayors from surrounding municipalities will compete in a special 20-putt challenge for the ultimate bragging rights!
Kickoff Event
- Opening welcome by Mayor Hegadorn
- Disc Golf - the latest sport (with the help of the Limestone Disc Golf Club!)
- Inflatable slide - 25' double slide
- Loyalist Golf Club activity
- Loyalist Fire Department - BBQ and foam party (weather permitting)
- Play pickleball at the Bath Pickleball Courts - Bath Pickleball Club
- Pollinator Garden Tours, tour the Bugtel and seed bombs (limited supply) - Bath Gardening Club
- Loyalist Township Come Out and Play Trailer games
The Bath Lions Club will be holding a food drive - donations for treats!
