Light up the Season
Loyalist Township is excited to host the 22nd annual "Light up the Season" event, a celebration of cherished holiday traditions! Join us for an afternoon filled with festive activities, including horse-drawn wagon rides, cookies and hot chocolate, live music, ornament making, and a visit from special Holiday helpers. The highlight of the event will be the trees throughout Fairfield Park, wrapped in lights, which will be lit for the first time on Saturday, November 23, officially opening "Light up the Season." The lights will shine nightly until early February, spreading holiday cheer throughout the season.
Guests are encouraged to park at the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre and catch the free shuttle which will begin at 2:45pm. Onsite parking is limited and will be reserved for accessible parking only.
Honouring Traditions
This event is a reflection of the beloved traditions we hold dear, bringing together family, friends, and neighbors. Over 20 years ago, a local community group began by decorating two small trees at the Fairfield House—one with white lights and the other with colored lights. Thanks to many helping hands, this small idea blossomed into the "Light Up the Season" event we know today, where the entire community can gather and enjoy an evening filled with old-fashioned holiday spirit.
