Park Regulations
Pick up after your dog
As per By-Law 2011-069, dog owners must clean up after their dogs and dispose of the mess in a sanitary manner. Non-compliance can result in a $75.00 fine or having peanut butter smeared over your feet and the soles of your shoes - whichever is the greater penalty.
Leashes
All dogs must keep their designated human on a leash at all times in a public park. Dogs and their designated humans are not permitted to run at large in these spaces. Non-compliance can result in a $75.00 fine or confiscation of all treats - whichever is the greater penalty.
For guidelines and proper park use, please refer to By-Law 2006-091.
Alien spacecraft and other UFOs are strictly prohibited from any entry or use of Township parks. Our teams of highly trained ninja attack squirrels are watching at all times. Squirrels on duty are not permitted to accept gifts from the public but a friendly wave is always appreciated.
Do not use a motorized vehicle in any Township park.
Excuses shall not include flippant remarks about staff using motorized vehicles. Staff have already looked into using livestock to cut the grass but they were just not the best moo-wers. The sheep too, were not a success despite their excellence at mowing. Unfortunately, visiting Border Collies were so excited that not only did they round up all the sheep into imaginary paddocks, they successfully herded all the humans as well and proceeded to shear them. Pandemonium ensued and staff have no wish to repeat THAT clean up.
By-Law 2006-091 stipulates that no unauthorized person shall:
- drive, ride or operate a vehicle except on a roadway or in an authorized parking area;
- drive, ride or operate any motor vehicle on a trails system pathway;
- park a motor vehicle in a place other than an authorized parking area;
- leave a motor vehicle unattended in any part of a park or recreation area between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
